Name: Kyou Nenshou
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Race: Elemental
Anime: YYH
Cannon?: No
Appearance:
Weapons: In a fight, Kyou is most likely to utilize his fists accompanied with his fire powers.
History: Kyou was a troublemaker from the start. But, he was a troublemaker with a heart of gold, to use the cliche. Even in his days before highschool, he was often sent home with a note, or suspended for beating up his classmates. However, he would only do such things largely because the beaten classmates had bullied other weaker classmates. Kyou simply took what he deemed to be the easiest route to stop them. He wasn't huge, he wasn't strong, but he was tough.
Things continued this way in highschool. The major difference was that Kyou made a very close friend there. Kouzu Hastings, someone who would eventually end up helping Kyou in his fights with other students, in an attempt to protect his weaker classmates. To the school administration he was a nuisance, a troublemaker, and was on the list for expulsion, but to his classmates he was a bit of a hero. It was a good life for Kyou, in a sense.
Things started changing when he picked a fight with the wrong guy. He had come across a group of older guys picking on a group of girls from one of his classes. Kyou and Kouzu did their thing and beat them down in a matter of minutes. Unfortunately, it was a bad move. The guys had been part of a large gang from the downtown area, and as Kyou was walking home from school that day, he was attacked by twenty of them. Things were going very badly for him, as could be expected. The thugs beat Kyou half to death. Kyou was on the verge of becoming unconscious. What he remembered was an orange flicker and a rush of heat. And then a few screams. After a few minutes, Kyou came to, and saw that the thugs had vanished, but that the alley in which they had dragged him was covered in scorch marks, as if a blazing fire had raced through it.
Kyou knew this was bizarre, and later found out that several of the thugs that had attacked him had been admitted to a nearby hospital with second and third degree burns. This confused Kyou, and would do so for approximately three more months. At this point, his world was flipped upside down.
A fight broke out in the city. Well... that sounded fairly simple, but judging by the news report he watched, Kyou understood it was anything but. The people fighting did not seem human at all. One of them used swords, something that seemed bizarre in the modern day, and the other two fighting him were using their fists... and it was even. More than that, they were displaying literally superhuman speed, strength and jumping entire houses. They were literally destroying the city block with their fight. Being the fighting fool that he was, Kyou called up Kouzu and both of them rushed to the fight to see it in person. Within moments, they became targets, suffice to say. And it was here that Kyou's world REALLY flipped.
In a burst of fear and adreneline, Kyou blasted one of his assailants with fire. He had no clue how it happened, or how he did. All he knew is that one moment he was looking death in the face, the next, fire was streaming out of his like a river. Kouzu encountered a similar problem. His, was with water. The two were then pushed back, and fled from the one they'd been fighting originally. A man named Kent.
Kent brought the two of them into a little band of fighters he had established, promising them answers. And he did. He told Kyou and Kouzu that they were not entirely human, but elementals. Living incarnations of the four basic elements, trapped in human form. Kent admitted himself to being one as well, and introduced them to the fourth one, Selena Kazegiri. By this point, Kyou and Kouzu were far down the rabbit hole. There was no turning back from the world they'd entered, as Kent told them.
Kent introduced them to a whole new world. The demon world. A completely new place, that, to humans like them, was quite a dangerous place to be. Kent was more of an outlaw here than anything. Meaning everything was against them. Well, 99% of everything. There were still a few allies. But they were few and far between.
Kyou and Kouzu fought alongside Kent for a full year. Kent personally instructed them in the art of fighting. Though Kyou and Kent were originally off to a rough start, a slow bonding occurred between them. Eventually, Kyou would have trusted Kent with his life. Kent would have done the same for Kyou. In the years that followed, Kyou gained a mastery of his powers, before disaster struck. On a final campaign against an empire of demons, though successful, Kent was apparently killed, and Selena went MIA shortly after. The four elementals were scattered.
After this, Kyou dropped out of the fighting life, intent on finishing his education and getting back a "normal" life. As a result of this, his power greatly diminished through misuse.
Personality: Kyou is someone who acts on impulse. He's protective of people and is a typical hero style. He has a special dislike for figures of authority, or being controlled and as a result is often irritated or angered by people who attempt to control others.. He has a naivety that is common among most shounen heroes in that he will put others lives before his own, and avoid taking the lives of innocents regardless of the cost. Despite this, Kyou has street smarts and is by no means stupid. He may not be the most brilliant of people either, though. He is a direct person with no time for subtleties, save when it comes to discussing his own feelings. Only then does he find difficulty admitting things.
Attacks:
Fire powers: Though his powers have significantly diminished from what they once were, Kyou has a competent control of the element of fire, capable of creating, manipulating and turning into it. He is incapable of controlling fires created by another source by supernatural means, (ie. Magic, powers, etc.) and being submerged in water, or fighting in cold environments will prevent his ability to transform.
Martial Arts: Kyou was trained by Kent Nekean in martial arts. Due to this, he can deliver punishing blows with lightning speed. His fighting style is highly reminiscent of boxing, with traits of Muay Thai and Tae Kwon Do mixed in. While weaker than he once was, Kyou's blows still have sufficient force to break bones with ease, and can reach speeds to the level that a normal person may be unable to see his punches. However, a competetent fighter will be able to see them easily.
Swordfighting: Kent instructed Kyou in the art of swordfighting as well. Although Kyou has abandoned the art, he is still a talented swordsman in combat, albeit a bit rusty.
Friends/Family:
Parents: Still alive.
Kent Nekean: Friend and instructor- presumed dead.
Selena Kazegiri: Friend and instructor- MIA
Kouzu Hastings: Best friend.- alive
RP Sample:
Things were much simpler now than then. There were no demons to worry about. No battles, no nothing. Just him and his studies. Kyou did miss his old life a little. But if he had to choose between the two, this one was definately better. Without a doubt. While there was less risk to his life, there was also.... less risk to his life. That actually summed it up pretty well. He didn't have to worry about losing his head if he relaxed even for half a second.
Kyou finished his essay and closed MS Word before getting up to go to bed. Before he did though... he always did this almost as a ritual to remind himself of what he was. He hesitated and then a flame lit in his palm. He looked at it quietly for a moment, before extinguishing the flame, and then going to bed.
