Name: Hitch Fenix
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Race: Human - Infused with Gourmet Cells
Anime: Toriko
Canon?: No
Appearance:
Hitch is a tall, sleek fellow with a well defined body, very typical of Bishokuya who use powers granted through Gourmet Cells. He has a light complexion, with a few tattoos along his arms and chest which are simply circle vectors, decoration entirely. His hair is black, around neck length, and his eyes are brown in color. Often times he'll wear very loose and not-very-covering clothing, on account of his abilities tending to destroy them anyways. One may notice that he has horns on his head; These are a functional fashion statement, which serve him a purpose and he had purposely installed in his skull.
Weapons: None
History: Hitch was born in Gourmet Town, located in the area of his world known as 'The Human World' as the food capital of the world, a metropolis. He was raised in a great environment for anyone who loved food, which for all intents and purposes in his world, was everyone. He was surrounded by food at all times, his family was wealthy enough to not only afford delicious food, but on occasion managed to score delicious gourmet food. Food was on the news, in fact, it was often times the only news. So of course, how could he not just take to food like everyone else in the world.
Obviously, he was a step up from the normal foodie. He wanted to experience all the world's foods and everything it had to offer. So he became a Bishokuya (Gourmet Hunter) at the ripe age of 16. His primary issue therein became that he was weak, untrained, and had no advantages. He would never amount to the likes of the Four Heavenly Kings, at least not at the rate he was going. Certainly, he was talented, otherwise he wouldn't be much. But one day it all became too much, when he got in the wrong person's way, and was blown up by a strange exploding insect. He was lucky to not die, though at first he thought he was cursed to a slow death of bleeding or starvation. He'd managed to stifle his wounds himself, but he was in no condition to escape his prison. With his injuries, what were once prey were now a minefield of violent predators.
Nevertheless, luck shined down upon him, one might say, several weeks later. The fact that he was alive at the time was nothing short of a miracle, especially with his injuries, but he was found alive in the middle of the Red Baron Forest. His pathetic cries for help managed to get him saved by a passing medical professional slash Bishokuya. His injuries were indeed grave, and his body needed nutrients badly. His only hope was a dangerous process, which would only be determined by his sheer will to live, as well as how much food he could pack down in a short time span. He was injected with what are known in the Bishokuya community as Gourmet Cells. Everyone worth mentioning in that community has them, they are known to occur in food naturally, greatly enhancing flavor whilst giving the host creature odd physiological side effects, ranging from fish that have a grilled cheese sandwich for a body, to a mammoth so huge that its innards are literally a maze with its own ecosystem.
Often times, Gourmet Cells are earned as a sort of badge of honor amongst Bishokuya, obtained from eating ingredients with particularly large quantities of them, and integrating them into their bodies, to attain physiological anomalies and boosts which help them in their careers. In Hitch's case, he had to get a whole syringe-full of them injected directly into his body. This was a dangerous gambit, since that large a quantity of Gourmet Cells had a chance of rejecting or being rejected, instead of simply being processed out if it wasn't meant to be. His only hope was that the Gourmet Cells would take to him, and he could provide enough nutrients to heal his injuries, restore blood, and still have enough left over to not die of malnutrition. Fortune was once again in his favor, as the cells not only took to him, but the food that was provided to him was of incredibly high quality, something that caused the cells to flourish and evolve almost immediately. This process was not without its immense agony along side gnawing hunger, but by the end of a 2 day stretch, he felt not only normal, but better than ever!
Hitch went on along his path as a Bishokuya, and has even evolved his Gourmet Cells more, delicious and high-quality ingredients he's collected pairing with the natural tendencies for the cells to adapt to environments, has causes his cells to be not only adapted to heat, but has allowed him to fight with it as a weapon against foes. It is now his primary hunting tactic, alongside basic martial arts. But what shall become of him when worlds collide?
Personality: Hitch is a man who revels in food of all sorts, especially those from his world. His primary goal is to discover new and delicious ingredients, with the second one being to experience all the world has to offer, trying to take them in tandem with one another with his profession as a Bishokuya. His years as a gourmet hunter have left him with numerous connections, which are most often in the form of friendships, though there is the occasional rivalry. As a person, he's sort of lackadaisical, doesn't seem to want to get his head out of the clouds, often daydreaming about ingredients that are imaginary even to him, which is saying something because fish that are part grilled cheese sandwich are a thing that he has seen and eaten before.
Nonetheless, he's a very friendly individual, a bit hot blooded sometimes (especially when it comes to food and table manners), but he's never outright hostile unless one were to break the basic rules of Bishokuya culture, which is to say, never kill something you don't intend to eat. This becomes his primary issue with evildoers of various sorts, who kill people and animals, raze forests to the ground, and other such things. This is not to say he doesn't have a problem with gluttonous demons, cannibals, and other such things, but he's less likely to flip shit if you eat the wolves you just beheaded. Especially if they're an ingredient from his world.
With the clashing of worlds, his own world being a place of delicious foods, he wishes to share these ingredients with the entire conglomeration that is the current universe. His dream is that he can bring peace to the chaos that is through delicious food. That's a lot easier said than done, since his world's ingredients are dangerous creatures indeed, the most delicious and high-quality of which are especially dangerous, or even insanely difficult to prepare. Thusly his goal is to make the best foods accessible to everyone, no matter who they be, in a safe and orderly mannerism.
Hunting Method: Hitch Fenix, mostly known as Hitch The Phoenix, is a Four Kings level Bishokuya, albeit not counted amongst them. He is known for his enjoyment of particularly hot dishes, both temperature-wise, and flavor-wise. His hunts have lead him into incredibly hot areas, often capable of causing spontaneous human combustion. He's built up a huge tolerance for heat, capably swimming in molten lava for a few minutes if he must. Despite this, he's also surgically implanted himself with a pair of heat sinks that appear like horns on his head, as a last resort.
His signature ability as a Bishokuya is his ability to store immense amounts of heat in his body, and literally burn his own calories, producing fire that he can expel from any of his pores, while also cooling himself off by expelling heat. Since he has full control over when and where heat leaves his body, he is able to travel just about anywhere, even in cold climates. His eyes are capable of seeing in Infrared Thermal Vision much like a lizard's pit organ, albeit only on cue.
Attacks:
Heat Punch: His signature technique. He builds up the heat stored in his body and concentrates it all into his fist and forearm, the concentration of heat causing the temperature overall to increase. He then delivers a punch a mighty one at that, any punch which connects solidly, and in an instant, projects the heat directly from the pores in his fist, into the body of his victim. This is noted for cooking dangerous monsters to a nice medium doneness in an instant, killing many with a quickness. This has proven in several circumstances to not be immediately fatal to particularly strong foes, though it still is quite damaging.
X-Thousand Degree Hotshot: A ranged combat technique which builds up heat in his forearm and hand, much like Heat Punch, but instead of directly releasing it through a punch, he literally burns his own calories to create fire which he then unleashes in a sphere of varying size and power at a range much like a gun. The most basic form is a trash-dispatching 1000 Degree Hotshot, which generates a ball of fire the size of his fist, and his current maximum output is a 5000 Degree Hotshot, which is a ball roughly the size of a tall child or a small adult. Power behind the shot is exponentially proportionate to size.
Flame Blade: A more controlled fire technique, in which he emits flames and sustains them in a concentrated form akin to a sword. It can cut like a sword, primarily due to its high temperatures.
Heat Armor: He collects his heat and burns calories to amplify it, making him insanely hot to the touch. This temperature is so high that it instantly evaporates small liquid projectiles, and causes immediate burns on contact. Obviously this doesn't do much if the foe is unafraid of burns for any reason, though it does have the added effect of enhancing his hand to hand combat a good deal. In a pinch he can up the ante by burning more calories and converting the heat into fire, and then expelling it around himself.
Heat Merge: A basic technique against any fire or heat based power of any sort. He takes in the heat of the attack and stores it harmlessly inside of himself. This extends to any kind of fire or heat, dry, demonic, magical, all of them. Obviously he wouldn't know that, since he usually only works with natural temperatures and biologically granted fire attacks, and occasional flamethrowers from bioweapons and thugs.
Thermal Vision: By utilizing an adapted organ his body produced in order to better understand and adapt to heat, he proceeds to see in hyperaccurate thermal vision. This is thermal vision so keen and precise that he can see all of the details of creatures and people that he is looking at, including eyes, hairstyle, and musculature, all the way down to the type of scales that they have in some cases. Obviously due to the different spectrum he is viewing in, he cannot discern color accurately.
Inverse Thermal Vision: Some creatures have adapted to environments by being cold blooded, and can become invisible to even Hitch's Thermal Vision by taking on the temperature of the surrounding environment. Using this technique, he rapidly expels and spreads out stored heat throughout the area, raising the temperature suddenly, allowing him to see cold blooded creatures with his Thermal Vision for a few minutes while their body is adjusting temperatures, since they will now be a different temperature than the environment.
Thermal X-Ray Vision: By focusing on a target, he can see the layers of temperature within them as well as their external temperature. This allows him to not only see all the way through them, but also see where the majority of their body's energy is directed, essentially letting him deduce vital points. This is less efficient when working on Cold Blooded creatures.
Kitchen Cooking: A technique which mitigates the intensive nature of his ability by utilizing heat from the area around him in order to perform his techniques. Essentially, this allows him to fight either with more firepower, or for longer on the same firepower, when in hotter environments. This works on the inverse as well, areas that actively sap his body heat will increase the relative calorie cost of his techniques. So he's far weaker in a glacier area than he would be in an temperate forest, and far weaker in a temperate forest than he would be in a scorching desert or near the site of a volcanic eruption.
Heat Sinks: The horns on his head act as heat sinks when in environments that are even beyond his capacity for storage. Nevertheless they both have 3 coils on them, each pair of coils is worth his body's maximum storage. These heat sinks do not attain heat from the environment, but drain it directly from his body when he's on the brink of overheating. For a reference point, his body can handle one full post of swimming inside of a volcano on the norm before he starts actually burning, so these heat sinks could extend that to 4 posts, 1 for each pair of coils on the horns, and then his body's actual capacity to absorb and store heat. While these Heat Sinks have full coils, his heat based techniques have multiplied damage (equal multiplication to the number of full coil pairs). That said, his Heat Sinks empty at a rate proportionate to his body.
Friends/Family:
Mitch Fenix: His Father. A wealthy businessman who owns a chain of restaurants in Gourmet City.
Persephone Fenix: His Mother. She's a typical stay-at-home mother slash trophy wife combination. All smiles all the time.
RP Sample: Hitch stood on the podium holding up the day's ingredient of interest, the mad beast with a capture level of 20, known for it's delicious meat with enough juice to drown every tastebud in your mouth with heavenly bliss, so savory you can still taste it for a full day after consuming it. The bovine beast, Briskbull! As always, Hitch had defeated this beast with his signature move Heat Punch, which cooked it to perfection all the way through in a single blow, inside and out! The only issue was that he needed to sell it soon, lest good food go to waste. Nevertheless, as a well known face throughout the Gourmet World, the auction was going smoothly upwards. Past the actual auctioning fees, the man known as the Phoenix stood to make a significant profit, which he was intending to use to fund his next big adventure.
(Extremely shoddy, I'm sorry)
Anything else you'd like to add: As his Gourmet Cells evolve, he is prone to becoming taller, and more muscular. This may cause his appearance to alter to one similar to a body builder at a later point.

- 3000 Degree Hotshot: A ball roughly the size of an adolescent pig, which strikes with great deal of force, akin to a 35 mph car crash, scorching grass and searing flesh, evaporating puddles it passes near.
- 5000 Degree Hotshot: A ball roughly the size of a tall child, or a short adult, which emulates the force of an SUV at 75 mph. It's heat is even higher, capable of disintegrating wood in an instant, and lowering the water level of small bodies of water it passes near, such as a backyard fishing pond.
